David Bellamy - Brontosaurus Will You Wait For Me?

Well I always wanted a pet.
Not the kind that the other kids get.
No I didn’t want a dog or a cat or a parrot or a mouse.
Walking in the woods by the shore
I found what I was looking for
With a neck like a lampost, a body like the side of a house.
He gave me a smile
And before I knew
He was my friend
And he’s bigger than an elephant too.
There’s nothing like him in the zoo

Brontosaurus will you wait for me?
Don't hide your head up there in your favourite tree.
You know I just want a word with you.
I can see that you’re very shy.
How can I say a word when you’re way up high.
Brontosaurus will you wait for me?
I wanna tell you how happy the two of us could be.
Could take you home, nobody would know,
Walk you every day.
You’d never find a better home so what do you say?
Brontosaurus please come home with me and play.

Well I haven’t told anyone yet
About the brontosaurus I met
No I didn’t tell my dad or my mum, no I didn’t take a chance.
I take him for a walk most days.
He acts like a puppy when he plays
Trundling along like a steamroller going to a dance.
In a little time
Our friendship grew.
Yes he’s my friend
And he’s bigger than an elephant too.
There’s nothing like him in the zoo.

Brontosaurus will you wait for me?
Don't hide your head up there in your favourite tree.
You know I just want a word with you,
I can see that you’re very shy.
How can I say a word when you’re way up high.
